Everything a rider needs

RIDO ONE is an international project based in Dubai — a community-driven mobile application for motorcycle owners and riders. Externo was brought in to deliver the complete product design and brand identity from scratch, turning a broad ambition into a single, launch-ready destination for everything a rider deals with around their bike.

The premise was simple to state and hard to design: put everything a rider needs in one place. We designed the full feature ecosystem accordingly — checking traffic fines and challans, managing complete bike details and documentation, storing bike papers digitally, browsing an accessories section, joining a dedicated biker community, and reaching a partner network for servicing and support when something goes wrong.

Alongside the product we created the complete brand — identity system, typography, colour and usage rules — so RIDO could present itself consistently across the app today and every touchpoint it grows into tomorrow.

A single destination for everything around a rider’s bike — documents, fines, gear, community and support — wrapped in an identity built to last.

02

A day across many apps

A rider’s life around their bike is scattered. Fines sit on a government portal, insurance and registration papers live in a drawer or a dozen photos, accessories are spread across marketplaces, servicing hides in phone contacts, and the community itself is scattered across group chats. Nothing talks to anything else.

That fragmentation is exactly what made the brief demanding. Bringing challan checks, documents, an accessories store, a community layer and a partner network under one roof means each of those carries its own logic and its own expectations — and all of it has to feel like one product a rider opens every day, not a bundle of half-related tools.

There was a second, quieter challenge: this was a brand starting from zero. For riders to trust the app with their documents and their community, RIDO had to look and feel credible from the very first screen — which meant the identity could never be an afterthought bolted on at the end.

03

Designed around real riders

We designed every flow around real rider behaviour rather than a feature list. The questions that shaped the work were practical ones — what does a rider reach for most often, what needs to be one tap away, what can sit a level deeper — and the interface was built for quick access, clear hierarchy and repeat daily use.

Product design and brand were developed together rather than in sequence, so the identity and the interface reinforced each other from the start. A few principles held the work together:

  • One destination — fines, documents, gear, community and support in a single app
  • Quick access first — the everyday actions never more than a tap away
  • A clear hierarchy so a dense feature set never feels heavy
  • A community layer designed to connect riders, not merely list them
  • A partner network that turns ‘something’s wrong’ into a next step
  • Product and brand designed as one coherent system
04

More than a utility

What RIDO ended up with is more than a utility app — it is a community platform. The functional side handles the admin of owning a bike: check a fine, pull up a document, store your papers, find an accessory. The community and partner layers turn that into somewhere riders actually want to be — joining groups, connecting with other riders, and reaching trusted servicing and support when they need it.

We delivered the whole thing as a fully designed, launch-ready product with a complete identity system behind it:

  • Challan and traffic-fine checking
  • Complete bike details and documentation management
  • Digital storage for bike papers
  • A dedicated accessories section
  • A biker community layer — connect and join groups
  • A partner network for servicing and support
  • A full brand identity: typography, colour and usage guidelines

Launch-ready by design

RIDO ONE came out of the engagement as a fully designed, launch-ready community platform with a distinct visual identity built to support long-term growth. Rather than a prototype or a loose set of screens, the client holds a coherent product and a brand system ready to scale as the community grows.

  • A complete, launch-ready product design across the full feature set
  • A distinct brand identity, documented for consistent use
  • Every flow designed around real rider behaviour
  • A community and partner network built in from the start
  • One coherent system spanning both product and brand
  • A foundation ready to extend to new features and markets
06

A brand built to last

RIDO set out to be the one app a rider opens for everything around their bike, and the design delivers exactly that — a single, considered destination instead of a scatter of portals, chats and contacts.

Because product and brand were built together, RIDO doesn’t just work; it reads as a real brand from the first launch. The identity system means that as the app adds features and moves into new markets, everything it produces stays recognisably RIDO.

What the client holds now is a launch-ready platform with room to grow — a community, a utility and a brand in one, built on foundations designed to carry whatever comes next.

Don't take our word for it - take theirs

Externo designed the whole product and the brand from nothing. Everything a rider needs is finally in one place, and it looks like a real brand from the very first screen. They designed around how riders actually behave, not a wishlist - and handed us something we could take straight to launch.
