About the role

Shipping shouldn’t feel like a gamble. We’re hiring a DevOps / Platform Engineer to own the infrastructure, pipelines and tooling the whole team builds on, and to make the safe path the easy path, with clean deploys, clear observability and sensible defaults. When the platform is right, nobody thinks about it; it just holds.

Because Externo is a service-based consulting company, you won’t babysit one product forever. You’ll design and run platforms across many clients and industries, from a fintech backend one quarter to an AI product the next. You set the reliability and security bar, and you’re trusted to make the call. There are no layers of approval to engineer around here.

What you’ll do

  • Own CI/CD, infrastructure and deployment tooling end to end, across multiple client platforms.
  • Build observability and alerting people actually trust: signal, not noise.
  • Harden security and reliability across every service, by default and not as an afterthought.
  • Automate the boring, error-prone parts of shipping out of existence.
  • Define infrastructure as code so environments are repeatable, reviewable and easy to hand off.
  • Back the engineers with internal tooling and golden paths that get out of their way.

What we’re looking for

  • 4+ years in DevOps / platform / SRE roles, shipping to production.
  • Strong with cloud infrastructure and IaC: you build it in code, not by clicking.
  • Solid scripting and automation instincts in Bash, Python or similar.
  • Comfortable with containers and orchestration in real systems.
  • A reliability- and security-first mindset, by default.
  • You stay calm switching between clients, stacks and problems.

Nice to have

  • Kubernetes run at real scale.
  • A track record of cutting cloud costs without breaking things.
  • Curiosity about ML and LLM infrastructure.
